QUICK TIP

Use frozen berries if fresh are not available.

Equipment Needed

Measuring cups and spoons, waffle iron, mixing bowl, whisk, baking sheet and zip top bags

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, avocado oil, egg, baking powder and almond milk. Whisk until smooth.

Grease the waffle iron with coconut oil spray. Place a 1/2 cup of the batter at a time into the waffle iron.

Cook the waffles for 2 minutes on 3/4 power.

When done, remove each waffle from the waffle iron and transfer them to a baking sheet.

When all of the batter is gone (there should be 5 waffles), transfer the baking sheet to the freezer for one hour or until waffles are frozen.

Once frozen, transfer the waffles into a zip top bag and keep in the freezer until ready to serve.

To serve, take one waffle from the freezer and place it in a toaster oven or toaster for 2 to 3 minutes, or until thawed and golden brown.

Serve with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.
