The Screen-Time Cure: Free Gym Access for Canadian Teens This Summer
Summer starts with a lot of promise. But by week two, the gaming headsets stay on. The bedroom doors stay shut. Screen time creeps up to twelve hours a day, and parents are left begging their kids to please just go outside and do something.
GoodLife Teen Fitness gives teens somewhere better to go. Since 2010, we've welcomed teenagers across Canada into our Clubs for free summer workouts. No hidden fees. No strings. No parent Membership required. For summer 2026, any teen aged 12 to 17 can step into GoodLife, try a workout, meet up with friends and build a summer routine they might want to keep.
Online registration began June 2, 2026. The program runs from July 3 to September 8, 2026.

What Can Teens Do at GoodLife?
We help teens feel comfortable getting active, whether they’re walking on the treadmill, trying a class, learning the equipment or working out with a friend.
At their nearest GoodLife location, teens can:
- Use top-tier cardio machines and select strength equipment.
- Access thousands of virtual workouts through GoodLife On-Demand.
- Bring a friend and join select Group Fitness classes using our app.
Teens don’t need gym experience to get started. We welcome every fitness level, from first-timers to young athletes, and our in-Club team is there during staffed hours to help them learn the equipment, understand gym safety and feel comfortable stepping onto the floor.
Real Answers for Parents
Can a 14-year-old go to GoodLife Fitness?
Yes! Anyone aged 12 to 17 can drop in and use the gym for free during our summer program hours. They just need a guardian to complete their registration.
Can my 12-year-old use the gym?
Yes. If your child is 12 years old by the time the program starts, they are fully eligible. We have clear rules and specific hours in place to ensure our younger members stay safe and have a blast.
What is the minimum age for GoodLife Teen Fitness?
The magic window is ages 12 to 17.
Is the gym safe for absolute beginners?
Absolutely. We set clear, respectful rules so everyone stays safe. Teens get full access to cardio and standard machines, while heavy-loaded or specialized equipment (like pools, saunas, and barbells) stays off-limits. It gives them the freedom to learn gym etiquette without getting overwhelmed.
