Growing up in the small town of Exeter, Ontario, there have always been plenty of opportunities for me to get involved and be active. Over the years I have played many different sports including soccer, baseball, golf and most important to me, hockey. Being involved in sports has always been an important part of my life, and now, I am really beginning to recognize that these experiences have taught me everything from dedication and teamwork to leadership and sacrifice.
Exercising is something that is fun to me, because it boosts my energy levels
and makes me feel happy. It gives me confidence and allows me to strive for and achieve my goals. When I’m active, I like to compete with myself and try and beat my personal bests by pushing myself to train harder.
The continuous improvements I see within my fitness, from my weightlifting to my cardio, are benefits well worth the hard work. I realize that finding motivation to be active can sometimes be difficult, but I have come to understand that when you do it out of enjoyment, and to please yourself rather than others, it becomes more of a pleasure than a task. To me, there is nothing more rewarding than working hard, and seeing results.
