After a long cold winter, it’s time to come out of hibernation and participate in the 34th annual GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon. The race takes place on Sunday May 15, 2011 and offers a distance for everyone.
The Loblaws 5K run/walk has a NEW start time this year of 10:00 AM as well as a new start line on Hoskin Ave just west of Queens Park and South of the ROM. With the new time the easiest way to get to the start will be taking the subway and exiting at the Museum Station. Just follow the crowds and watch the over 3,000 participants in this fast scenic course. You are your guaranteed to have a great time.
Come see why many veteran runners consider the Molson 67 Half Marathon one of North America’s finest. The run/ walk is an extremely fast net downhill course. Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city but make sure you save enough energy to take home the big heavy finishers medal. The half starts at 8:00 AM behind Mel Lastman Square and works it way down Yonge St. towards the scenic Rosedale Valley Ravine. It continues south on Bayview, along Front St past the Historic St Lawrence Market and Finishes North of University at Queens Park. If you are looking to set a personal best this downhill scenic course is a must.
The Marathon starts at 9:00 AM behind Mel Lastman Square. The 42 km route works its way thru the streets of Toronto. Runners will see Toronto’s great tourist attractions such as Casa Loma, CN Tower, St Lawrence Market, Rogers Centre, Ontario Place, Queens Quay, Queens Park and many more. As well as the scenic area’s such as Rosedale Valley and Lake Ontario. Are you looking to qualify for Boston? Well this is the course for you.

Bummer that this is the same weekend as the Mississauga marathon, both are such great events! I know there with issues with having it in the fall, but why compete with another local event?
