Find balance in your daily life

I was looking out my window while working in my home office the other day and got distracted by a couple of seals playing in the bay (these days I divide my time between Victoria and London). As I watched them, it got me thinking about that work/play balance that is a favourite topic of lifestyle sections in the newspapers I read every day. I pretty much travel 200,000 kms in any given year. Three reasons really…speaking and attending conferences; active trips with my family and lots of business travel because the irrepressible entrepreneur is who I am!

Bay and mountains

January was a great month! It was really exciting because we opened 3 new clubs in 3 days (more clubs to serve you when you travel!). I left Victoria on Monday, was in Dartmouth, NS the next day; Wednesday in Cambridge, ON and Thursday Pickering. From there it was on to Montreal to check in on our clubs there. Victoria to Halifax to Ontario was a lot of time zones in a few days!  Still, some of my best times are at new club openings so it was fun. I get to meet new staff, hear what’s unique in different communities and best of all; it’s a big opportunity to meet members face-to-face from all across Canada. Check out new clubs on our website and maybe I’ll see you at the next one!

By the way, that work/life balance…I always take my own advice and make sure I get my workout in most days. It gives me good enough amounts of energy. And with four kids there are lots of reminders that being fit makes every aspect of your life good and balanced!
